Designed for use in a variety of water cylinders, immersion heaters have different controls and settings for numerous applications. Found on top of the hot water tank, the immersion heater runs on electricity directly to heat the surrounding water which essentially acts like a large kettle. This process uses an immersion heater element within the water cylinder to heat the water.

The most convenient use for installing an immersion heater is to ensure a continual supply of hot water even if the boiler breaks down. However, they are not particularly energy efficient and can cost a significant amount to power.

To achieve the greatest efficiency from the water cylinder the installation of an immersion heater thermostat or immersion heater timer will allow you to control the temperature and power duration. They are also available in a variety of sizes and Kilowatt outputs.
